RICA PROCESS
RICA is here to help us all. This law requires all SIM card users to register their personal information against their cell phone numbers. New SIM cards cannot be activated if they have not been RICA’d.
- Visit rica.telkom.co.za to activate your SIM
- Enter your name, surname, SA ID & SIM ICCID
- Enter e-mail, cell number & residential address
- E-mail or SMS verification link sent which customer must click on for the verification to be done
- Upload copy if ID
- Upload proof of residence (should match residential address provided in step 3)
- Selfie verification – Take selfie and upload
- Customer will get notification of successful RICA & SIM will be activated within 2 hours
For all after activation support call 081180:
- To contact the Customer Support line on 180, please remove the SIM card from your modem/router and insert it into a handset/ mobile phone. Calls to Telkom Mobile Data Support line are only free from a Telkom Mobile number.
- You can also phone Customer Care on 081 180 from any other telecom operator network, but these calls will be charged at applicable service-provider rates.
Please Note the following:
- Purchasing of LTE/LTE-A once-off data bundles and using the bundles is subject to the availability of LTE network coverage within the specified location and the subscriber will not be able to roam on Vodacom network.
- A sales agent will be able to assist you with checking if your address is within LTE network coverage range. Alternatively, you can verify same online at: www.telkom.co.za/today/ucm.
The LTE/LTE-A once-off bundles shall have Anytime data and Night Surfer Data. Night Surfer shall be valid to be consumed between 12am – 7am.
- The data validity period for LTE/LTE-A Once Off Anytime data bundles shall be 61 days. i.e. LTE/LTE-A Once-off Anytime bundles shall expire 61 days from the date of activation.
- The data validity period for LTE/LTE-A Once Off Night Surfer data bundles shall be 31 days, i.e. LTE/LTE-A Once-off Night Surfer bundles will expire 31 days from the date of activation
